Ukraine-Kyiv Pavilion

Ukraine-Kyiv Pavilion has been part of Folklorama since the beginning of the festival in 1970. Each year, the Pavilion continues to contribute to Folklorama’s goals of celebrating diversity and promoting cultural understanding.

Ukraine-Kyiv Pavilion’s sponsoring organization is the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Manitoba Provincial Council.

The Pavilion celebrates Ukrainian culture by showcasing its exciting and colourful traditional dancing, energizing music, mouth-watering cuisine, beautiful art, and fascinating history.

Over the years, the Pavilion has proven to be an important venue for the Ukrainian community in Manitoba to come together.

There have been a number of marriages that have taken place as a result of couples meeting at Ukraine-Kyiv Pavilion and, each year, generations of families make time to volunteer together at this important event.

The Pavilion is extremely grateful for the support that it receives from both individuals and organizations within the Ukrainian community.

Folklorama Festival

Folklorama is the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world, as determined by the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts. Folklorama began in 1970 as a celebration of Manitoba’s centennial, and has grown into an annual two-week festival of global culture that takes place the first two weeks in August. Over 40 volunteer-run pavilions participate each year, showcasing unique cultures in venues throughout Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Pavilions feature lively entertainment, cultural displays, warm hospitality and authentic ethnic cuisine.
